Empowering Women in the Residential Construction Industry

Did you know women comprise only 9.9% of the construction industry's workforce? Despite this persistent gender gap, women continue to build their path in the industry. In fact, over the past 10 years, the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) statistics show a steady increase in the number of women employed in the industry.

To support women working in this traditionally male-dominated field, Whirlpool Corporation — regularly recognized as a leading company in efforts related to inclusion and diversity — is proud to be a Platinum Sponsor for the Women in Residential Construction (WRIC) conference.

The fifth annual conference, which is designed to help empower women in the industry, will take place in Scottsdale, Ariz., September 25-27, 2019. It will bring together more than 200 female executives and managers from top firms across residential construction.

Co-hosted by Professional Builder magazine and Professional Remodeler magazine, the conference tackles important issues and helps attendees set, meet and exceed their goals. WIRC provides a professional, community-oriented environment and offers new strategies and innovative ideas to help women in residential construction move their career forward.
